On June 22, 2021, STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” will optimize the control of snail pests on chili farming in Sukapure Village, Cilawu District, Garut Regency, West Java.
The PKM team led by BEM STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” was able to perform direct pest control inspections of agricultural land in the hamlet of Sukaputih for which no remedy was ever found. One of them is located on Mr. Safaat’s (age 60) agricultural property in RT 02 RW 05 kp Pananjungan Suka Pure Village, Cilawu Subdistrict, Kab. This arrowroot consistently encounters challenges while preventing pests.
Chili peppers, which from 2010 to the present have been tormented by dry patches and the number of snails/snails that have not discovered a medicine that may make chili plants viable till the age of 5 months after planting, are the primary agricultural difficulties in the Cilawu area. Local farmers have using formalin, although formalin remains quite costly. Also problematic for local farmers is the requirement for intensive pesticide irrigation. The reason for this is because spraying must be performed every two days, and if spraying is not performed, the crops would rapidly dry and decay, resulting in crop failure. The effect of these pests is particularly significant, since only five to ten chilies per tree may be picked successfully and sold if the pests are not managed.
STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” students naturally do community service in the framework of maximizing the prevention of this snail and patek pest by developing a pest control device during the following six months.
