The STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” Campus on March 7 held a Seminar on Metaverse & Augmented Reality. The seminar took place at the STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” Campus, the seminar was attended by 26 representatives from public high schools / private high schools in the city of Bandung. Metaverse can be interpreted as a virtual world without limits. Therefore STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” raised the title because the development of the metaverse is still very broad and has a long way to go to discover the full potential of this virtual world. Even so, the development of the metaverse is amazing because big technology companies have started to develop this technology.
The currently well-known Metaverse is Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta which develops 3-dimensional games by utilizing VR and AR technology. The Metaverse which is developed by this company is able to create a new metaverse feel that is not felt by users when using 2-dimensional applications. Another example of the development of the metaverse is the shopping process. Metaverse the shopping process utilizes a crypto wallet for the payment process when making transactions. Besides that, the development of the metaverse has entered the world of music. Several singers have held concerts in the metaverse, one of which is Justin Bieber with the help of a technology startup called Wave.
The seminar was filled in by STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” Campus lecturers. The Metaverse & AR seminar was filled in by Dr. Eng. Ali Suryaperdana Agoes, M.T., while Elisabeth Pratiwi, M.Ds and Georgia Andriani S.Sn., MDs filled in the material for 2D & 3D Animation. as well as material regarding campus history filled by Rudi Kurniawan, S.Kom, M.T.. This activity is continuous with campus tours guided by lecturers in introducing facilities as well as innovations and research that has been carried out and will be carried out at the STMIK “AMIKBANDUNG” Campus “
